FAQs

Milford Care

  • What is the difference between home health care and non-medical home care?

Home health care includes clinical and medical services provided by licensed nurses or therapists, such as wound care or physical therapy. Non-medical home care concentrates on activities of daily living (ADLs), companionship, household tasks, and safety monitoring to support individuals in maintaining their independence at home.
  • Are your caregivers legally allowed to administer medications?

Our caregivers offer essential medication reminders, assist with organizing pill containers, and monitor medication schedules to promote safety. However, as a non-medical agency, our caregivers are not permitted to physically administer medications, including giving injections or dispensing liquid doses.
  • How do you handle clients with mobility challenges or fall risks?

Safety remains our highest priority. Our caregivers receive training in safe mobility assistance and transfer techniques, which include wheelchair support, bed-to-chair transfers, and preventative fall strategies during daily activities and walks.
  • What specialized support do you offer for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's?

We offer specialized memory care support designed to keep clients safe and comfortable. This includes preserving consistent daily routines, providing gentle redirection, offering continuous safety monitoring, and delivering engaging companionship to help minimize anxiety.
  • Can your caregivers help with tasks around the house?

Yes. Our homemaker services include light housekeeping, laundry assistance, dishwashing, linen changes, and organizing living areas to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment.
  • Can a caregiver take my loved one to appointments or the grocery store?

Yes. Our meal preparation services encompass meal planning based on dietary requirements, grocery shopping support, and preparing fresh, nutritious meals tailored to each client's individual preferences.
  • Do you provide care for younger adults or individuals with developmental disabilities?

Yes. Our disability support services are fully customized to encourage independence and establish routines for individuals across all age groups. We provide assistance with daily living activities, personal care, and achieving lifestyle objectives.
  • How do you help clients stay active in the local community?

Through our community support services, we help clients participate in social outings, attend local appointments, and engage in recreational activities to reduce isolation and promote meaningful social connections.
